Hi y'all (n 'ullo Paul from 'ull! :)
Well, Lee did us proud despite not having picked up a guitar for 4 weeks (I couldn't tell!) and telling some really very (VERY!) rude jokes (only 2 people walked out) :) (And he was so quiet and well behaved at Harbour Sessions when I first saw him!)
He did a broad selection from his albums and threw in some new stuff including one song by Dave Woods - who was at this guitar weekend in Buxton recently - lovely song - well, it was all excellent! I was especially chuffed that despite only attracting 27 full paying guests (plus the usual Open Mic suspects) they were all new to the club, had read the publicity and thought Lee sounded interesting - resultant absolute rapt attention from everyone and big rush for CDs at the end. And bumping into people the next day who'd never been to the club telling me how much they'd enjoyed it! Great result!!
Oh, and Mooman your friend, can't remember his name, from Pulborough came along too and had a good time...
Feedback was that Lee was an excellent choice (well, no choice really :) ) for a first guest - think he gave a few musicians something to think about!!
Lee is playing next at Chichester Folk Club, The Gribble Inn on 25 June I think it is!
Thanks for all your support and interest everyone! Now, how do you think the Ukelele Orchestra of GB will go down next? :) Love, Hille xx
