I'd love to sit down and go through all the comprehensive books listed above. But, the books are a means to an end at the moment.

Therese Radic's book, and all the other books listed, will eventually end up in my library, but at present I'd really like to find the tune to Rosscrea Cows and some info about the song (maybe leading to an original gaelic tune) and then compare contrast the links to Basil Cosgroves "The Rabbiter Trapper's Song" http://www.mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=23038#253206

In the meantime, as I understand it, the "modern" tune to "Travelling Down the Castlereigh" is not the tune for Cosgroves "Rabbit Trapper"? Is this correct?

I'll go have a look for info on "Travelling Down the Castlereigh and get back.
