We were backing some 60's Rock 'n Roll Singers in Manchester. (The Jive Inn/Napoleon, Openshaw.)
I picked up my guitar, a Jap Squier Strat to do the second set, and found a big piece of glass sticking out of it. The remains of a pint pot lay on the stage.
I'd love to know what happened while we were taking a break, but I wouldn't dream of trying to repair the damage.
(I WOULD like to apologise to the music lover who inflicted it.)
Its all part of the business. Did you ever see Rory Gallagher's 'Strat?
I personally think this is all very character building for both Guitar & Player.
Fogie..
I've got a 33 year old Eko, it slipped out of my hand at the top of our stairs and bounced down every step 'til it hit the bottom with an awful sickening thud. (Still in tune though.)
The back came away, I stuck it with wood glue and left a washing machine on it overnight. Good as new.
I also 'electrified' it by attaching a pickup to it with two drawing pins. Those were the days.
Mind you, if I'd forked out as much as Allen....
