I'm a bit late to come in, I suspect, but I wrote the Shores of Sutherland and other songs for the LP Battle Ballads on Major Minor around 1968/9. The tune I set it to was an old Pipe tune called Brose and Butter although I changed the tempo and various bars to suit the mood and my lyrics.
