Also look out for any recordings of the Tintagel & Boscastle Players, a group recorded in the first half of the 20th cent (I think). The line up of the band included a wonderfully sawing cello. I heard them on the Topic Records CD "Hidden English". The Melstock Band have a cello, don't they? They model themselves on the sort of village band, which often had cello or serpent playing a bass line. Yours, Jane
