I decided to follow the advice of Susanne(skw) and become a memeber. I might have done it before but I have an aversion to completing even the simplest form or giving out any information about myself. And this explains why I was bewildered to be addressed as "David". It's all caused by an addiction to pseudonyms and an inability to remember what pseudonyms were used when, where and why. Your past inventions will come back to trip you up. As for the words, "tourist trade" is what I wrote, for precisely the reasons outlined by Teribus. However I think that "cruelest" is a truly delightful example of creative mishearing. Mind you, one of the few good things to be said about Belfast is that it did not, as far as I know, derive any of its wealth from the slave trade. I'm thankful for small mercies. And I'm perfectly happy that someone should sing "iron men" or even "jeweller's trade" – I'm sure it must mean something. As for the tune, many years ago I learnt how to read and write the little black dots on a stave and I doubt if I'll ever learn anything else.
