actually dylan recorded his version in 1961 in december and it was released in march of 1962. he came to england in dec of 1962 to appear in the play "madhouse on castle street" and also made a couple of appearances in folk clubs where he met martin carthy who taught him a couple of songs he would utilize for his own compositions...lord franklin and carthys version of scarborough fair.
