Years ago, Nick Ogelvie of Portland, OR, sang this song, which he said was written by an Uncle of his. It is about a forest worker who is in jail. The Chorus goes:

Ain't hearin no good news, aint hearin the Fir tree sigh, Think I'll set my carcass down and cry...

And the end of a verse goes: And I just wanna see, that old fir tree, a'wavin in the wind...

I'd like the rest of it...
