Good news for a change::::: the guitar from Gainesville finally arrived. It took about 5 weeks after not hearing from the seller. It has a very good sound but the strings are too high above the fretboard to be easily to play. I sanded down the underside of the plastic saddle but the bridge is just too thick and would have to be removed, reduced in width and reglued. Since the top is not 'all mahogany' as implicitly advertised by Hohner, the manufacturer, I would think that it would be really easy to pull up the mahogany veneer on the top when removing the bridge. ....... But the guitar is a good strummer in first position. ----- it's sure better to play an instrument before buying, don't we all know? Why did I forget? Beware of shopping for groceries on an empty stomach and for guitars when yours has been unplayable for too long....
