My best one was....
Shortly after I had lost a finger (unfortunate accident with a ring).... I made a replica out of potato, and used makeup to give it flesh tone & make it realistic. Then I put the new finger where the old used to be - just lightly holding it in place by pressure of the neighbouring fingers. I dressed very conservatively in black & proceeded to the halloween party at the pub.
I spent the evening shaking hands with strangers, leaving the finger in their hands........
It was a moment of rare subtlety for me.
