This conversation inspired me to find my peavy solo and power it up with 8 old D cells....it still works after years of storage.... As I remember the speaker wasn't the best as it distorted some...but I used to sing via a shure sm57 mic and play my electrified acoustic through it sucessfully. A Georgia musician either loaned or gave me an Ovation Tangent thin lined electro-acoustic recently so it's time to get back out there and sing somewhere, where I don't know.... Thanks for the indirect idea.... maybe maybe maybe a song will soon be sung solo in georgia you can't get under it..... singin' steve
