Uncle Jaque Last Shanty Swap at China Sea-11/23 (Maine) (104* d) RE: Last Shanty Swap at China Sea-11/26 (Maine) 29 Oct 02

Ahoy There!

Have been wondering when a China-Seas Chanty-Hoot was going to come together again, and knowing that Cpt. Bunker's lease was on the rocks knew that our window of opportunity was closing fast.

Thanks to Charlie and Roll&Go for orchestrating this event.

Although China Seas won't be in the Old Port, perhaps, there are hopes that Steve & Sharon will be able to relocate not far away.
What with the shootouts between the "Hell's Angels" and "Devil's Disciples" that have been going on down there lately, I'd just as soon be meeting someplace with a little less potential for that sort of exitement. It might have been fun once, but we are getting a little old for that stuff!

In the meantime, we will keep our antennae extended for an alternative site. I have had a few ideas in the past and certainly remain open to suggeston.

My Brother has invited us to his Farm in NH that Sat. (23rd, right? the thread title says "11/26") for an early Thanksgiving. I'm actually inclined to beg off, since we put on a big do here on Thanksgiving Thursday, with about 20 of Aunt Martha's Family, and the prepatory cleaning frenzy is usually a bear. This year Martha Has some time off the week of the 24th, so we are not yet particularly committed one way or another. And then our elderly Mother's health, which has been poor for years, seems to be taking a turn for the worse - so I guess about all I can commit to at this point is that I'd love to join the merry Crew on the 23rd if things sort out so as to permit it. It's on the calender.
Should things change, I'll post an update.
