Sign me on for the careful but not paranoid crew. Living in DC, I've had a serial window peeper/masturbator, a one-time robbery by(I suspect) an acquaintance who tore the place apart (which is a violation) and worst of all, a terrible situation where my property managerwas coming into my apartment ans stealing and just generally making himself at home, for nearly a year ands no one would do anything about it. THat turned extra scary when I found pictures of myself that had been laying about with holes burned in the face (my face) of them. Other yucky discoveries, too. I pray that that's the closest I ever get to violent crime.

My tepmom sat next to a guy at her company holiday party who later confessed to a particularly grisly double homicide. She said she found him quite charming and personable, which scared the bejesus out of all of us.
