Can't help you with the original, but from memory of Ralph McTell's version of Hesitation Blues: HESITATION BLUES As recorded by Ralph McTell on "Streets of London: Best of Ralph McTell" (1996) Got my hesitation stockings, hesitation shoes. Lord almighty, got them hesitation blues. CHORUS: And tell me how long must I have to wait? Can I get you now? Oh, no! Must I hesitate? A nickel is a nickel and a dime is a dime. CHORUS _____________________________________________________ Not sure of the order of the verses, & some are repeated. In terms of development of the drama, I can't see that it matters too much.
