pulled out my 'Faces of Folk Music' book by Gahr & Shelton from 1968, and was struck by what a truly wonderful time it was to have been alive. Great to see photos of many Mudcatters, Happy and Artie Traum, Sandy and Caroline Paton, Jean Ritchie, etc., as well as Irwin and Mark Silber et alia. And all the old timers, Margaret Barry from Ireland, Sara and Maybelle Carter, among others, and the newbies, Dylan in a bathing suit! The essay is interesting for it's time, as a plea for understanding and tolerance within the folk community! Plus sa change...! Any body else with a copy? Anybody know does the ReSource Center of Singout! have one? Happy & safe Holidays to everyone folk music is the voice of the people, and we will be heard
