Iceland sounds cool (pun intended) But wait a minute - did I hear they don't sell beer and spirits are VERY expensive - or is that the other way round ? I'm Biased in saying Ireland - but a lot, not all by any stretch, but a lot of music is rooted here with good understanding form locals about the noise etc. Weather can be shite though. Killarney has a festival in the gleneagles hotel called the 'Gathering' each year (2003 is 19-23 February I've just been told ) - Mudcat could easily overtake it as a fringe type festival. Lots of hotels are closed but if they know there's a crowd. Hostels, B&B's and camping in abundance.
