It was a 1936 (I think) Martin 0-18 that was for sale at Guitar Center for $1500. I know that's not that much for a good guitar but it seemed astronomical at the time--I was 17 and had just started learning to play. Anyway, it wasn't much bigger than a ukelele but sounded like a cello. I _still_ can't play well enough to deserve it . . . Realistically, I want a baritone mountain dulcimer with a double bottom, so I can play really loudly in A.
