Visions TV in Canada is carrying "Mummers and Masks", a documentary about the mummering tradition in Newfoundland as well as Ireland and the U.S., on Boxing Day, 6:00 and 9:00 Mountain Time. I had an advance look at the documentary when I was in Newfoundland in November. Anita Best, one of the organizers of the conference I was at, and a highly respected traditional singer, is the narrator of the program. It was very interesting, and I recommend it highly. I'll be setting my VCR for sure.
