In the Canadian Army, it is called Gun Tape, and comes in an olice drab colour. Not actually used on guns, to my certain knowledge, but for almost everything else. About ten years ago, the supply system made it available in black, brown, yellow, green blue and red. Very useful for all sorts of purposes, but purists wil still argue that it isn't proper gun tape.
