I liked the movie but I agree it has some problems. I thought Daniel Day-Lewis was great and DiCaprio very flat in his role, possibly intimidated by Day-Lewis' acting. I gave up on movies being historically accurate. As for over-the-top, I thought Hackman, in the Royal Tennenbaums, was hard to watch. Tony K
