This morning, 29/12/2002, on his radio programme Ciaran Macmathune played the Dubliners version of the song as sung by the late and much missed Luke Kelly, Luke used to sing ' pledge ', I feel that this is correct because Paddy Kavanagh gave the song to Luke himself, Cheers, Dave
