I agree Amos, that this is a terrible national and international tragedy. But I respectfully disagree that the loss of life was a waste. Those astronauts are pioneers, explorers. The scientific and technological advances made on these missions are astonishing. A tragic loss? Most certainly. But a waste? I sure don't think so, and I'm willing to bet their families don't think so either. Rather, I'm betting they have both tremendous grief, combined with tremendous pride over their loved ones' achievements. How could they consider their sacrifices and achievements a waste?
