Perhaps the Brit-catters find the Tanyas over-rated because they've only heard the studio recording. I like the Blue Horse CD, but when I saw the Tanyas open for Sarah Harmer at Convocation Hall in Toronto last winter, their harmonies absolutely blew me away: far richer than what was captured on the CD! Do go see them play live if you get a chance. Especially if they're playing a venue with good acoustics. Cheers, Hester ... who has absolutely no musical training or talent, and so responds to the music she hears purely on an emotional rather than a technical level.
