Dan is still active. He's been recording albums on Surfdog Records (a studio recording with a number of famous guest artists, a live album and I think he's working on another record now). He put the Hot Licks together again and has been touring for the past several years. None of the original people in the band but the same instrumentation and the same approach. Both some old tunes, and new tunes he's written as well. I toured with the band for most of 2001, mostly either small clubs or large concert settings. Dan puts on a good show and always gets a great response.
