Yeah, well you missed a pretty good session in the shop on Saturday. The experiment involving "Diatonic Novice" on pushbutton accordion made for an interesting mix in our old-time warmup to the usual bluegrass mob scene. Accordions are found in all kinds of roots music, including Cajun, Irish, and even some of Bill Monroe's earliest recordings with the Bluegrass Boys. Combined with fiddle, guitar and clawhammer, we had the gern of a good idea going there. by the time I had to leave, there were enough banjoes in the room to qualify as a mummer's parade. I'll have to miss the next two weeks, due to baseball and kayaking obligations. But I'm excited by our session's growth and diversification.
