You are in for a treat! The Kruger Bros. are the most effective group I've seen at "progressive" bluegrass, and Jens Kruger is one of the best banjo players alive. I've seen them several times, at festivals in Lexington KY and at the IBMA conventions. Although I'm somewhat of a purist in bluegrass and often cringe at excessive tinkering with tradition, these guys pull it off. Elements of classical music seep in and lots of folk influence is felt, but they can also play the real thing. They generate an easy, comfortable rapport on stage, but keep the music up front. Please come back to us next week and tell us what you think.
