You don't just communicate with eye-contact. I sometimes like looking at singers who sing with their eyes closed, because free from any embarrassment caused by my staring at them, I can concentrate on the song and enjoy how much they are getting into their performance. I don't feel shut out. I feel included. who's going to start a new thread. 'Singing with mouths open or closed.....' Remember that guy from amen corner who sang with his teeth together.
