On their 1955 album 'Encores from the Abbaye' (Elektra 29) Gordon Heath and Lee Payant sing a version of 'Hill and Gully'. The liner notes read as follows: start of quote HILL AND GULLY (Jamaican Work Song) Hill an' Gully ride-a, Hill an' Gully, Hill an' Gully ride-a. An' a ben dung low dung, ('And I bend down, low down') Hill an' Gully, An' a low dung bessy dung, Hill an' Gully.
