All depends which decade you are asking about, IMHO as regards folk music I believe the sixties and early seventies produced the best contemporary music around today, including the rubbish I wrote. Compared to the giants of yesteryear, Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms, et al, what we created pales into insignificace, but I like it anyway.
