Gareth Your Right! It was Starlight Bitter. Red Barrel was the up-market brew and still absolute piss. The bitter equivalent of Skol Lager!!! I remember being in a pub in Southampton when someone asked for a pint of Red Barrel. "We're a Whitbread pub" said the barman, "We don't sell Red Barrel". "Just give me something similar" was the response at which point a pint of warm soapy water appeared on the bar. I don't think the customer noticed the difference... Davebhoy
