I reside approximately 10 Kilometers from Mahone Bay. Have been attending the boat festival since it began. It has been a great event providing an opportunity for many professional and amateur
entertainers to perform and has been admission free. Also many nautical things of interest to see and do. I have heard also that it has been cancelled due to insurance problems. Although I have not heard of any other events actually being cancelled for this reason there is reports of voulenteer fire departments having difficulty in obtaining insurance for libality and equipment coverage. It seems a shame that we are moving in this direction. It could very well be that it will have an effect on the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival. Another wonderful folk event in the area.
