Just a few notes on the above. "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Paraphrase of Heinlein (from Starship Troopers): 'The draft is incapable of instilling civic responsibility. It would be easier to restore sight to a blind man than to make a draftee [with no choice in his situation] feel responsible for the needs of others.' Consider that the military in Viet Nam was primarily a draftee force when fraggings and other indications of 'civil' disobedience took place. If you wish to influence policy, get active, vote and get others to do so.
