In the key of G, you should be able to throw in some E pentatonic minor/blues scale licks without too much effort. You only
need one or two fingers to play most of them in the root position. For example:
   E---3----3----0---------------------------------3------
   B---0--------------3---0------------------------0------
   G---0------------------------2--0---------------0------
   D---0--------------------------------2---0------0------
   A---2-------------------------------------------2------
   E---3-------------------------------------------3------
