As a member of PRS I can confirm that in general only major live performances of my works are picked up by their computers, normally tours by major artists in big concerts, once a year a general distribution is made pro rata based on these returns. A performance of one of my songs in a folk club in England would only generate a few pence even if the PRS form was filled in, even if these forms were submitted many times the total amount due to the writer would fall below the PRS minimum ditribution limit. Here in Germany I must fill out a GEMA form, the German version of PRS, before I get paid for a gig, when I played in England in March not once was I asked to fill in a PRS form, although I submitted one for each gig anyway. Radio and T.V. royalties are much bigger and picked up automatically by PRS.
