I'm a bit differant, I guess. I enjoy the taste of booze and beer. But I don't drink all that much. Oh, a beer or two, per week/month. And at the Scottish games a dram or two of the water of life. But I'll also go months on end and never drink either. I don't care to be drunk, but I like the taste of the stuff. So I have one drink, or two, then quit. None if I'm going to be flying the next day. Only one beer (well sometimes two) if I'm driving. So I don't go much for quanity, so I go for quality. I have developed a taste for the dark beers, ales. and Porter.
Even when I was young (20-21) and in Germany, and at a party, I would only have one, or two, the quit, or drink coffee. If anyone gave me any trouble about it, I would tell them that I was a pilot (not true at that point) and wasn't allowd any beer before flying. (By the way, that is a good excuse to use, if you don't want to drink at that time. Just tell them your a pilot, or on medication that dosn't allow booze. They will look at you and be sympithatic (sp?), but it gets you off the hook.) There is no shame in NOT taking a drink, if you don't want it.
