I remember (or mis-remember) reading an interview from around 1963 where a journalist keeps asking Bob something like, "But what could it possibly MEAN, the ANSWER is BLOWING in the WIND??? How can an ANSWER ... BLOW ... in the WIND??" Dylan was remarkably patient. This would never happen today -- can you imagine any journalist talking this way to David Byrne about "Stop Making Sense," or Michael Stipe about anything he's written? It just wouldn't happen ... mostly, because Bob did the heavy lifting back in the 60's. He fielded all those stupid questions so future songwriters wouldn't have to. Says me!
