Be careful of fees. The Local Government Association has a web site and is already campaigning long and hard to control fees locally - back to square one. And it probably wont be folkies in court but owners of unlicensed (for music) premises. And most will just tell musicians where to go if they have no licence...so sacrifices in court and trips to the Court of European Rights in Strasbourg just will not happen. The best hope in my view is for a future minister to amend the definition of regulated entertainment to exclude acoustic music. Tony looked suicidal himself on tele tonight. Maybe if he goes we will be in the hands of the Deputy PM. Bloody hel. Thats Prescott, known as the Mouth of the Humber!
