Laphroig (La-froyg (long o , soft g) is a single malt scotch made on the Isle of Islay, if I'm not mistaken. The peat moss that grows there evidently gives this scotch it's strong smoky taste. Now, I'm no expert, and I'm sure there are scotch drinkers who can think of a lot better description than "smoky", but one little sip fills your entire mouth with a rich, wonderful flavor (if you like scotch). And nothing loosens up the old pipes better for singing those low, growly songs! |
