What about one of those brush things that attaches to a wall corner and lets the cat rub on it? Rub some catnip on it and maybe she'll groom herself. If you do try the fish-oil tactic, have a tube of cat laxative handy. You don't want to give her hairballs (you can vacuum hair but you can't vacuum barf . . . ).
