Patrick Spens is pretty good. Sovay (in its various incarnations) is just great. I also love his instrumentals with the percussive guitar style --Old Tom of Oxford, Swaggering Boney, etc. But right now, my Carthy favourite (it changes from week to week, depending on which album happens to be on heavy rotation here) is The Queen of Hearts from his first album. Just beautiful. Anybody else wish he had done more love songs? After all, there are plenty in the English tradition --just ask June Tabor... Cheers, Isabel
