why don't we voluntarily or by law build houses and buildings out of concrete, stone, whatever, at least in high fire risk places. Likewise sensible roofing material. I heard in France they only build with masonry of some sort because they don't care to put out fires there..It would help save the forests, although not the workers in the industry, and would transfer money spent on wood either to local stone sources our places where they have nothing but rocks to sell, bringing income there....I know you have to weigh fire danger against earthquake danger, and stick houses do well in earthquakes..also why do they build houses out of sticks in hurricane alley? mg
