Some menus I spied at eating houses included "all our meals are cocked up", "scrabbled eggs" and "cooked children" (meant to be "chicken"). My kids took a while to be convinced of the latter. In one place we asked if the chicken was really fresh - we were assured of this when the waiter ran through the eating area with a flapping chook under his arm, into the cooking area; sounds of the execution then followed. It was a somber meal that night.
