Just had to tell you all about a weird, IMO, jutaxpostion of artists and venues. ON NPR, this morning, they were reading from their concert database.

In Cheyenne, right now, the "Granddaddy of the all", Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo is going on. Big names, big bulls, big competition, big tourist draw, big everything, including names in entertainment. Real cowboys and wannabes, etc., but as Western cowboy as you can get.

Anyway, it struck me as kinda funny and a sign of the "times they are a'changing" when I heard the top stars tonight are going to be the Beach Boys and Credence Clearwater Revisited. Now, the latter I can believe a little bit more than the beach Boys! I guess it has to do with baby boomers and where they are really coming from than any wannabes being pure to the cowboy genre!

Do you knwo of any similar instances of seemingly mismatched venues and artists? I guess they will not be considered mismatched by the promotions board as I am sure it'll be sold out tonight!
