Agree with all the above. Upgrading your version of Windows to 2Kk or ME would also re-find the drives and re-create the boot sector. As 2003 is about to be launched(?!?!?!) and 98 could be obsolete upgrading could be a good idea anyway. But then we get into all the upgrades for your drivers and BIOS etc. As I said before, if unsure, find someone nearby who is!
