Somebody might have already made this point (if so I apologise for not noticing) but here in the UK the lights went out every night for six years between 1939 and 1945, but we didn't have Mudcat to whinge about it like bunch of Jessies, so we just got on with our lives.

Oh, and by the way, while the lights were out every night, a load of German Nazi loonies flew over and dropped thousands upon thousands of tons of high explosive on us, but they only managed to kill a couple of million of us.
