Our power has gone out twice in the past three weeks. Once due to a bad transformer; not sure why the second time. This could have very serious implications for someone who relies on an oxygen concentrator which is run by electricty. Fortunately, I have a stand-by tank of O2 which I can hook up using a pulse dose thingie which runs on double A batteries. Failing that, Rog has my concentrator fixed up so that he can run it off the car battery if need be. I wouldn't even want to think how scary it must have been for anyone caught out with a limited supply of O2. I could make do, just wouldn't be able to move very quickly (or at all in the heat:-), but people who have lung problems would really be in serious trouble. And, I am not talking about people in institutions which may have had back-up generators. I mean those of us who are active and out in society in general.
