Thread Name: Humorous male/female duets (songs)
Subject: RE: Humorous male/female duets
Can't remember who did this one in the 60s (I think)... the tune is in slow Waltz time, so could actually be performed whilst dancing for added comic effect!

(Man)
Darling, go home,
Your husband is ill

(Woman)
Is he ill?
Let them give him a pill!

(Chorus)
Come, my dear Franz
Just one more dance
Then I'll go home
To my poor old man
Then I'll go home
To my poor old man

(Man)
Darling, go home,
Your husband is worse

(Woman)
Is he worse?
Well, I am no nurse!

(Chorus)

(Man)
Darling, go home,
Your husband is dead

(Woman)
Is he dead?
There's no more to be said!

(Chorus changes)
Come, my dear Franz
Just one more dance
Then I'll go weep
For my poor old man
Then I'll go weep
For my poor old man

I occasionally do this one 'solo', switching to falsetto for the female parts...!!
