I'm living in what is called "high desert," and all around are dry sagebrush, dry cedars, and other such brush. Slurry bombers are based out of the local airport (every year, as it's convenient to other areas as well) and have been kept busy. The fire danger here continues to be "extreme" despite the little rain we had a few days ago -- didn't do much good, as the ground's so hard it didn't soak in.

Wildfire -- brush-fed -- are the rule around here, and they can move as fast and generate a firestorm with the best that the forests can produce.
