I was wondering about this one. Is it really traditional? It seems rather like a modern imitation of a parlour ballad on the face of it, but of course you never know. Did that John Kerr credit a source at all? The reason it hasn't been mentioned here may just be because it's obscure and little-known; or it may be because it hasn't been around very long, perhaps.
