Thread Name: Origins: Momma Don't Allow? / Mama Don't 'Low
Subject: RE: Momma Don't Allow No...
Joe, I had a Cow-Cow Davenport album, but loaned it out, and I think it went down in the flood of '93. Betcha Stewie has a CD, though.

Don't remember what all was on it. I still have a few things by Cow-Cow on anthologies here and there.

The "Low Down Hangin' Around" I got. Just can't remember who by at the moment. Doesn't seem like it was Riley Puckett. (After thinking about it for a bit, I'd say it was Frank Hutchison, leastways, it sounds like him in my head ~~ I'll look later.)

I know I have the Bill Boyd.

I expect I have the sheet music for the Smiley Burnette. I'll look tomorrow.

Just dug this out from the Folk Music Index

Mama Don't 'Low - Davenport, Cow Cow (Charles)

Us - Mama Don't Allow (No Low Down Hangin' Around)
